The Mod Squad is made up of three youths from the "hippie generation" brought together to help fight crime and infiltrate into the counter culture. Each has their own past with a brush with the law. Pete was the son of a wealthy family, kicked out after having stolen a car. Julie was the daughter of a prostitute who ran away, only to be arrested for vagrancy.Linc was from a family of 13 children who got arrested in the Watts riots. All three are looking to make sense of their lives when they were approached by Captain Greer to join in his youth gang. They rode around in a Woody the first season but it was dumped down a mountain side in the second season.
