Summary of Law & Order: Criminal Intent Season 7 Dvd Box Set

season 1

Detectives Robert Goren and Alexandra Eames investigate a diamond heist in a house that left its two occupants and one of the robbers dead. Karl Atwood, the criminal who planned the heist, attempts to trick the police into thinking that the robbery was mob-related, but the detectives uncover the deception when they track down a lead that shows that he served time in a Canadian prison, and has skipped parole and crossed the border. Goren and Eames interview Atwood's girlfriend, Gia, and tell her that he was infected with AIDS in prison, and that he has passed it on to her. They promise to be lenient on her and get her treatment if she will help them to apprehend Atwood. She arranges to meet with Atwood, and when the buyers for the diamonds arrive at a hotel, Goren and Eames arrest everybody. They inform Gia that she has not contracted AIDS.

season 2

The murder of a mortician, and the discovery of corpses at a crematorium, leads the detectives to a Family man who claims to own a consulting business but is suspected of being a contract killer with a penchant for perfection. Goren attempts to prove the man's guilt by setting up a scheme that puts his "fear of making a mistake" in jeopardy.

The double murder of a social services worker and a deputy mayor lead the detectives to suspect a couple who may have a grudge against the social worker for taking away their children. When they learn that the social worker had taken special interest in a child prodigy being considered for admission to a prestigious, accelerated school, they examine both the boy and his obsessive father.

season 3

A famous architect's promiscuity becomes the key to solving the murder of a promising young designer who was his closest competitor for a prestigious commission, and Eames makes an announcement.

When a schizophrenic obsessed with Marilyn Monroe and the cult of the blond and the blue-eyed commits a series of murders to eradicate those he feels are responsible for promoting the homogenization of appearance rampant in society, Goren and Eames suspect that a person close to the man may have taken advantage of his illness and his Crimes to commit extortion.

Season 4

The investigation into the deaths of a shock jock and the housekeeper who supplied the pain killers to which he was once addicted leads Goren and Eames to a detox clinic staff member whose mental illness hits Goren close to home.

The investigation into the death of a famous photographer leads to the discovery of multiple homicides committed by the collaborator on his latest project, who was attempting to exorcise demons from his past through an artistic expression the photographer soon found intolerable.

season 5

As returning Detective Mike Logan joins the Major Case team, Detective Goren finds himself confronted again with Nicole Wallace (Olivia D'Abo) -- his murderous nemesis; when he and Detective Eames check out the drug-related slaying of a city health inspector. The key link is the victim's brother Evan Chapel, (Kevin J. O'Connor), a recently widowed medical examiner who is romantically involved with the re-surfaced Wallace, and the investigators fear that the man's young daughter might be Wallace's next victim.

season 6

In the season premiere episode, Detectives Goren and Eames investigate the death of a former ambassador's daughter, who is found brutally murdered in her uptown home. The detectives turn their suspicion to the victim's jealous ex-boyfriend, but when another murder bears eerie similarities to a serial murder case from the past, Goren's reclusive old mentor, Declan Gage (John Glover), and his daughter, Jo (Martha Plimpton), come in to help the investigation. The veteran detective arrives on the scene with firm ideas about the case, and to warn of a serial killer who may be back on the loose, but it is not long before the finger of suspicion is pointed at him when Eames disappears from her home. Apparently, she has been kidnapped and may be the next target. Eames is seen blindfolded and hanging by her bound hands from a meat hook. After they interrogate Declan, Eames' car is found still in the garage with another victim in the trunk. Eames meanwhile escapes, but does not know who her captor is. In the final scene Declan is being interrogated by Captain Ross while Goren and Jo watch and discuss the case. Jo admits how her father treated her like an aide, not a child, and that he did not believe a woman could be a serial killer. In her statements she reveals that she committed the recent murders so she would have something in common with her father again.

season 7

In the Law & Order: CI seventh season premiere, the death of an officer named Kevin Quinn (Gerald McCullouch) pulls Goren from his compassionate leave as the case is given top priority, but his relentless investigation brings out information related to Eames' husband's death, and the fallout threatens to become catastrophic as the case is reopened, potentially freeing the man she blames for her loss.

season 8

Detectives Goren and Eames investigate the shooting of Stacy Hayes-Fitzgerald and her boyfriend Rick Siebert, two drug addicts who are blackmailing Stacy's stepfather, Neil Hayes-Fitzgerald (Scott Cohen), a politician running for mayor. Rick was killed in the shooting, but Stacy survived by playing dead for hours under his bleeding corpse until they were found by Stacy's mother, Josie. After returning home from the hospital, Stacy attempts to commit suicide. After seeing how she reacts when Neil is around, Goren asks Stacy if she has been abused, but she denies it. Goren discovers that Stacy and her Family moved to Switzerland for a year when she was in high school, and realizes that Stacy's younger sister Sophie is actually her daughter by Neil. While questioning Neil and his mother, Camille (Kathy Baker), it is revealed that she had Rick killed because he was threatening to expose Neil's Family scandal, thwarting his mayoral bid.

season 9

A tourist yacht cruising the coast of Somalia opens fire on an unarmed boat, killing a sheikh and his wife. The incident sets in play an international grab for power, an illegal arms deal and a hunt for terrorists. Captain Ross finds himself at the tragic center of the conflict, galvanizing the assistance of Major Case detectives Goren, Eames and Nichols.

season 10

After a young call girl is murdered, the investigation leads Detectives Goren and Eames behind the scenes of the fashion industry, where they witness the many moral compromises—not to mention outright lawbreaking—that is allowed to keep the resident star designer and hard-partying, “rockstar” Nyle Brite (Jay Mohr) content. Would the fashion house’s key members stoop to murder to protect the runaway train wreck who makes them all millions, or are those skills being used in a cover-up?
