Following the incident at the bar, Nina goes into surgery for a gunshot wound and Maura sustains a head injury. Jane believes Alice Sands (Annabeth Gish) was involved and sets out to look for her,Rizzoli & Isles Season 7 DVD including announcing it to the press, who believe Alice shouldn't have been allowed to escape. Jane mentions Alice's incompetence, a plan to lure her out of hiding, but draws a departmental reprimand. It is revealed that Alice has inserted herself among tunnel dwellers who have aided in her revenge against Jane. Meanwhile, Korsak delays his retirement out of concern for Jane and Angela breaks up with Ron to protect his family.Jane discovers Alice had an "accountant," someone who helped her smuggle drug money, but he is killed by the police before he can be questioned. Alice's funds are now cut off and Jane hopes this will force her to surface. Maura finds bovine blood on the accountant's clothing, leading to Alice's arrest at a deli. With no physical evidence of Alice's involvement in the shooting, Rizzoli & Isles Season 7 she is later released. The team manages to connect her previous prison escape to the death of a state trooper. Alice takes a teenager hostage at gunpoint, forcing Jane to shoot her in hopes that people will wonder whether it was in the line of duty or in cold blood. Jane, having previously asked a priest for forgiveness of her future actions, is at peace with the resolution.
