Summary of Law and Order : Special Victims Unit Season 13 DVD Boxset
The 13th season of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit debuted on NBC on September 21, 2011,and is scheduled to conclude on on May 23, 2012.
This season of Law & Order: SVU will be broadcast without any other running U.S. Law & Order series. The original Law & Order was cancelled in May 2010; its direct spin-off Law & Order: LA was cancelled in May 2011; and USA Network ended Law & Order: Criminal Intent in June 2011.
The detectives of the Special Victims Unit are called to the scene when a hotel maid (Anika Noni Rose) reports being assaulted by Italian diplomat Robert Distasio (Franco Nero). Bureau Chief Mike Cutter (Linus Roache) and Assistant District Attorney Alex Cabot (Stephanie March) prosecute the high-profile case, which quickly grows more complicated as the maid's credibility is publicly questioned. Detective Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) joins the Manhattan SVU from Atlanta, while Detective Benson struggles to cope with the fall-out from the shooting in the precinct.
As Coach Ray Masters (Dan Lauria) is inducted to the Metro Basketball Hall of Fame by former students, an ex-player, Stevie Harris (Aaron Tveit) accuses the coach of sexually abusing him as a child. Detective Nick Amaro (Danny Pino) transfers into the SVU squad from narcotics and is thrown on to the case. The detectives interview former players but no one admits to abuse, forcing Benson and Fin to dig deeper into Coach Ray's most successful player, basketball star Prince Miller (Mehcad Brooks) and his manager/cousin (Heavy D).
