Supernatural Season 9 wraps up on its final episode on Tuesday but fans have already been assured that the show will continue with a new Season 10 and perhaps even longer.

CW's longest running show is still preparing for production to start on Season 10, and it has been reported that script writing will start in June or July, according to network president Mark Pedowitz.

CW renewed Supernatural for Season 10 early this year, in March, mainly thanks to the show's highly competitive ratings and appeal to a broad audience.

In his interview with Entertainment Weekly, Pedowitz even admitted that Supernatural will remain on TV beyond the next season.

"I would love 'Supernatural' to continue for as long as they can continue, as long as they have great stories to tell," he explained.

Meanwhile, executive producers Jeremy Carver and Robert Singer are planning on another spin off.CW already had the first spin off which featured the story of a young cop and five influential cans that run Chicago's mafia business. This was aired on Season 9 Episode 20 but unfortunately did not get solid audience share.Nevertheless, Pedowitz confirmed to Zap2It that the network is willing to give Supernatural spin off another try.

With regards to Supernatural casting for Season 10, Misha Collins is back to play the role of Angel Castiel. His debut was on Season 4 where he was promoted as a series regular the following year.In Season 6, his character was taken off the books but has had random reappearances since then.

Supernatural Season 9 Sale finale Do You Believe in Miracles airs on May 20.
